2008 HANK WILLIAMS JR/LYNYRD SKYNYRD TOUR

2008 is starting off to be a great year. I got a publishing deal and am back to doing what I love to do best...writing country songs! I have been creating with some amazing writers and I am thrilled to say I am working on a new project! More news to come on that subject. Meanwhile, I will be starting the Rowdy Frynds tour again this year with Lynyrd Skynyrd starting in April. I will post the dates! See you soon!
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hank's band went to LA last week and recorded a tribute to Hank Jr. We were the house band and backed up artists including Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Gretchen Wilson, Shooter Jennings, Holly Williams, Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson! It was an incredible experience! The show airs Nov 17th at 8 central standard time on CMT. I am having a party at my place for the band and we are all going to watch it together (if we can stand it) :)

After surgery
2006-07-15
I am recovering quickly from my two back surgeries....have a pretty little scar, but I say it adds character. Maybe I should get a tattoo to cover...any suggestions? Thanks to everyone for their concern.
Surgery
2006-05-22
HI. I thought I would let everyone know that I had back surgery last Monday and Wednesday. I had a lumbar diskectomy. I had ruptured discs in my lower back..the L5 S1 vertebre. The doctor performed the surgery Monday but I managed to rerupture the disc again on Tuesday and had to go back in for a second surgery on Wednesday. I am recovering at home....unable to do anything for about a month. I had to cancel my first set of shows with Hank Williams Jr. They have a fill in bass player for me. I am doing my best to be ready for the fan fair show on June 8 as well as some rippy's dates. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts...also many of you sent cards and flowers...they are beautiful and really brighten up my room. :)
I hope to be healthy and stronger than ever for my big summer tour.
God Bless.....

2006-05-05
Hi! Just a quick update to let everyone know that I will be playing bass and singing on the Hank Williams Jr. tour this summer! My first gig with him will be June 8th at the Titans stadium in Nashville during the CMA Music Festival (fan fair).
Also, a lot of people have been asking about my health....I have a ruptured disc in my back that may require surgery. I have had two MRI's taken and two epidural injections of cortizone steroids in my lower back. Thank you for all of your prayers and concern. Hopefully I will be out of chronic pain very soon and back to the business of music! For those of you in town for fan fair, I will not be having my own party, but I will be playing at Rippy's (located on the corner of 5th and Broadway downtown Nashville) on Tuesday night from 10:30-2am and Friday afternoon from 2:30-6pm. So please come by and say hi! Can't wait to see all of you!
Hawaii
2006-02-21
Hi everyone...Just got back from 10 days in Hawaii...on the islands of oahu and Lenai. It was beautiful and warm..in fact my nose is peeling a little. It was a shock to come back to Tennessee and have it snowing and sleeting and feel the cold rush of 10 degrees! But I am glad to be home....back to writing songs and playing every tuesday night at Rippy's in downtown nashville with my local band "Triple Threat".
Also, people have been asking me about my cd's being out of stock. If you would like to order one, please email me directly. I still have a few left. Thanks!
Bandwagon
2006-01-26
Well, it seems I have reinvented myself once again. I have been working on a project with a new band called "BandWagon". Right now we have 5 members who include myslf on bass and vocals, Christie Baeuerle on vocals, Sean Patrick Mcgraw on acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals, Charlie Worsham on lead guitar, banjo and vocals, and Steve Sinatra on drums! We have already played two showcases in town...one at The Basement and one at Douglas Corner this month. We had a great turnout at both shows...including some artists in the crowd like Jo Dee Messina and John Rich from Big and Rich.
Two of the guys, Steve and Charlie, attend Berkley School of music in Boston so we won't have any more shows until the week of spring break (March 17-26) when they are out of school. Meanwhile, Christie, Sean Patrick and I are in town and busy writing songs for the new project. We are excited about the mix of great musicians paired with sincere, honest, talented, easy-to-get-along-with individuals. Thank you to everyone who has shown their support so far by coming to our showcases and encouraging us in every way. <><
Producing Amber Leigh's CD
2006-01-26
Billy Austin and I are producing a cd on singer/fiddle player Amber Leigh. We have tracked 10 songs and are busy working on vocals. John Rich stopped in last night in the studio to say hello and play us some new songs he has been working on. I have really enjoyed working on the 'flip" side of making a record....the producer side. I encourage all of you to get a copy when it is finished.
New Eyes!
2005-10-07
Hi! Just giving everyone a shout out and letting you know how I am enjoying my new eyes after having lasik surgery done this past wednesday....a nice treat to myself. I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in this procedure!
Michigan and Ohio show
2005-09-01
I want to give a special thanks to Ross for coming to my show in Pontiac, Michigan at the High Kicker Saloon. We shared a few shots of Jack Daniels and had a blast hanging out after the show and visiting with some of my family. Ross, I can always count on you.....thanks.
Florida
2005-07-20
Our last trip to Florida was great. We opened for Shedaisy at the coconut creek casino. But the day started early when we drove to the miami sequarium at 6am to swim with the dolphins! It was an amazing experience...they are beautiful and gentle mammals. We took lots of pictures and will be posting some on my site very soon. Hope you all are having a good summer.
Hello
2005-07-08
Touching base with everyone. I have been very busy traveling and playing lots of gigs with Amber down in South Florida. It has been a whirlwind of activity to say the least. Amber and I are both adjusting to being roomies! I am writing a lot and doing other freelance gigs on the bass. I just received my upright bass that I ordered not too long ago and am going to start learning how to play it. It is a whole different animal from electric bass. My poor fingers will get a workout for sure. Excited about playing it though..it is absolutely beautiful. Still looking for songs to finish up the other half of the bluegrass record. A lot of people have been asking me about it lately. Hope you all had a great fourth of July..I spent mine on South Beach in Miami...just the inspiration I needed to get in shape....I just started a workout plan with weights and have a personal trainer. usually, I am a jeans kinda girl but I may sport a mini if I see results anytime soon! :)
Fan Party
2005-06-09
I want to sincerely thank everyone who attended the get together at the Gerst Haus last evening. I know a lot of people traveled great distances to be there and it did not go unappreciated. I hope everyone enjoyed the music..I was only planning on singing a few songs but I think we ended up playing for about two hours! I trust everyone enjoyed seeing and hearing Amber Leigh and her Dad, Randy, perform with me. (I TOLD you she was great!) You WILL be hearing more from her since she has officially moved to Nashville now...where she NEEDS to be!
Have a great week at CMA Music Fest everyone!

Steeplechase Gig
2005-05-15
I just wanted to say thank you to Mike Smith, Steve Proctor and Brent Keally for making yesterday's gig at Steeplechase such a success! Despite the rain, we jammed for about 6 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. It was the best party in the infield no doubt. Hope we can be a part of it again next year.
Bluegrass Record
2005-05-13
Randy Kohrs (producer and musician) dropped me off a mastered copy of the 6 songs that we have completed for this project. I am so happy with the outcome and can't wait to share it with you. We will be pitching it to some labels very soon..I am excited!
Martin Audiology Charity Event
2005-05-02
HI! Right now I am in Waco, Texas with Dr. Martin, Curtis, Joy and Blair. I participated in their first annual charity show for the deaf and the hearing imparied with headliners including Kevin Fowler and Robert Earl Keen. It was a great show, fun crowd and the event was a success, raising funds for 100 kids in need. If anyone is interested in this company, their website address is listed under my favorites on my website LINK page. They are wonderful people with big hearts and selfless generocity. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and look forward to coming back this way soon. I LOOOOOOOVE TEXAS!

Long Time No Write
2005-04-15
I know I have been out of touch and I am sorry. I have about 500 emails to check and return when I get home. Have taken a little time off for myself...took a trip to Key West Florida with some friends and went yachting, deep sea fishing and snorkeling. Not to mention shopping and eating at fabulous restaurants! Also took a trip to Vail and attempted snowskiing to no AVAIL! Better stick to singing for me...lol. Snowmobiling was more up my alley. Loved that!
For the past 8 days, I have been playing club dates in Valdosta and Vidalia Georgia with a Nashville band called Southern Sundown. Keith Driver is the lead singer, me on bass, Cassady Feasby on drums and Les Richardson on guitar. I have had a great time learning new songs which include stuff from Violent Fems and U2! It has been so much fun! We are living in a trailer all week....living off mac and cheese and cereal in a cup. Oh, the glamorous life of us rock stars! I should have posted these gigs on my website but i just haven't had time. I found a library and am trying to catch up as much as possible and keep you all in the loop.
Let's see...what else...I bought a new car....my truck is starting to give up on me and no one can figure out what is wrong with it. She's just old I guess... a 90 model. Any mechanics out there reading this???
Halfway done with my bluegrass project. Gonna try to find or write 6 more songs for it. Have some interest from Ricky Skaggs label. Shoot some prayers up for me if you have room on your prayer list! I just can't imagine being anywhere but on stage. Love you all..... Meesh
Checking In
2005-03-19
Hello! Long time, no type. I have been fighting off the flu lately. I think I have been under the weather for about a month now. Seems like it is has been going around for a while. Can't wait for some warmer, healthy harley riding weather.
On a musical note, we found out that Tequila Reef (the club were playing for a while) officially closed their doors so we don't feel so bad about getting fired anymore. :) I am playing sporadic gigs around town and some in Cookeville with a band called Nashville Pickers. Some of the guys include Sparky, Charlie Daniel's guitar player and Mike Kennedy, George Strait's long time drummer. Fun! I am still substitute teaching and liking it more every day. Working with K-4 levels..even P.E. and Music! Also occasionally working with autistic kids. What a challenge and blessing at the same time..it is very rewarding.
Have one more vocal to put down for my bluegrass record to be officially halfway done. Some very talented people have been sharing their gifts with me to make the songs extra special.
Blessings, as always, Michelle <><
New record
2005-02-27
Hi! Wanted to let you all know that I am working on a new bluegrass album with my friend and talented musician/producer, Randy Kohrs. We are about halfway through. It is sounding really good and I am proud of the work we have done so far.
Meanwhile, I am substitute teaching. Fourth grade and kindergarten levels. It has been an interesting new challenge. My mom has been helping me out as she is a teacher herself at Hickman Elementary school. The job is rewarding knowing that I am making a difference in their lives and they seem to like me a lot as they shower me with hugs and ask when I will be back to sub for them. Nice to be needed. :)
Thank you again for believing me and I hope to have more news to report very soon. Love, Michelle <><
T-SHIRTS ARE HERE!
2005-02-03
My first batch of Michelle Poe t-shirts are printed and ready to be worn! I can't wait to see the first one on someone. That will be cool. :)
Well, our gig at Tequila Reef has been put on hold indefinitely as the owner said that they were not making enough money to have us there. We would pack the place, but I guess not enough people were drinking on Tuesday nights to justify the cost. Will be looking for something else and will keep you posted on any progress. Sorry about that!
On a happier note, a lot of people have started going to my church since I put the invitation on my website. The pews are getting more crowded every week! That is a good thing. I love saving seats for new friends and people who are interested in spiritual growth. I think we will be playing there two weeks from now. The service starts at 10:45 at Inglewood Baptist Church in East Nashville.
I am writing a lot and still trying hard to housetrain my little Yorkie, Bimmer. It is a challenge to say the least..especially with white carpet. Not very glamorous rock star work. LOL
Take care and write soon...I am trying my best to answer all my e-mails.
Have a great weekend!
Live Gig
2005-01-27
I just wanted to thank everyone who has come out to Tequila Reef the past couple of Tuesday nights. The place gets so packed that they are thinking of moving us to Friday nights! I will keep you posted, I promise. I know a lot of poeple are considering road trips to see us play. I am excited about that. Some folks that have already come out include Jennifer Hanson and Mark Nesler...two of my favorite artists...(their links are on my website) .
Please join us this Tues night again if you can. Would love to see you!!!
Bimmer (my new yorkie puppy) is doing fine and is up to 2.1 pounds now. He is sleeping on the pillow next to me tonight. He dug into the garbage today and licked the sides of a can of soup that I had eaten for lunch. His face is all sticky and he smells like chicken noodles! A bath in the sink is being arranged for him tomorrow.
Love,
Michelle <><
P.S. My first set of T-shirts is on order and will be for sale on the website very soon. How fun!

Update
2005-01-10
I trust that everyone is getting off to a good start this new year. I have been very busy taking meetings with producers and booking writing appointments. I have some great song ideas that I have LIVED over the past year that I can't wait to express on paper and through music!
I got invited to sing at my church (Inglewood Baptist) sometime soon and am looking forward to sharing my gift with people who love the Lord. You are invited any Sunday morning at 10:45am.
I also got a new mininature yorkie for myself for Christmas who has been keeping me very good company. He weighs 1.8 pounds. His name is Bimmer (pronounced Bee-mer). He is the cutest little man I have ever seen. Didn't think I would ever fall in love again! :)
Have a live gig coming up next week here in Nashville....will keep you posted.
Thanks again for your prayers and support of all my dreams!
